HIV/AIDS Services

Services we provide:

We offer HIV/AIDS services for clients who have been thinking about getting tested for HIV.  We have Counseling services available at our 140 N. Ashland location in Chicago, to help clients explore the option of testing.  Should the client decide to be tested for HIV, we have a technician available on-site, to draw blood.  After testing we will also provide post-test counseling on a short-term basis.  Test results are treated highly confidentially and can only be released with the client's written consent.

Who is eligible for our services?

Any client who comes to Central Intake for medical assessment and referral services will be offered HIV/AIDS counseling and testing services while they are here for their physicals and labs.  Participation in HIV counseling and testing services is strictly on a voluntary basis.

A client who comes here for a physical and initially refuses the services may decide later in their treatment to come back to Central Intake to participate in the HIV/AIDS services that we offer.

How to access our services:

An HIV/AIDS counselor will explore the option of testing with clients individually while they are here for their physical and labs.  A client who initially refuses the services but decides later in their treatment that they would like to be tested should call our confidential HIV/AIDS Counseling and Testing number, which is (312) 492-7266.  There is a counselor available Monday - Friday 7am - 4:30pm.
